Definition of coke
Coke
i. A solid fuel made from bituminous-coal from which the volatile constituents have been driven off by heat, so that the fixed carbon and the ash are fused together. Commonly artificial, but natural coke is also known; e.g., where a dike has intersected a bituminous coalbed and has converted the bordering coal to natural coke.
