Abstract/Notes | The article considers new technologies of diamond deposit exploration using the M.V. Lomonosov deposit of the Arkhangelsk diamondiferous province as an example. A brief geological description of the deposit is given. A set of petrological and geochemical criteria for identifying diamondiferous kimberlites and lamproites is proposed and the main mineralogical criteria for searching for these rocks, as well as the criteria for identifying diamondiferous rock varieties among them, are analyzed. The leading role of microcrystalline oxides from the binding mass of kimberlites and lamproites for assessing their diamond potential is shown. The methodology of geological exploration at the M.V. Lomonosov diamond deposit and the place of drilling pit boreholes for collecting large-volume samples and their enrichment are discussed in detail. Theoretical substantiation is given and design developments for drilling boreholes with a diameter of 560-960 mm in geological exploration of the kimberlite pipes of the deposit are presented. The article presents the results of testing a new technology for drilling a pilot well with a diameter of 4.0-4.7 m at the Karpinsky-1 pipe of the deposit and discusses the prospects for drilling super-large diameter wells. The ore processing technology is described and the results of ore mass enrichment using large-diameter well drilling are presented. The results of geoecological monitoring of the process of drilling large-diameter wells and sampling are considered. The main results of applying a set of new technologies in exploration of the M.V. Lomonosov diamond deposit and the prospects for their application at other sites in the diamond-bearing provinces of Russia and abroad are summarized. The book is intended for a wide range of specialists - mining engineers, geologists, petrographers, mineralogists and geochemists. |
